Professor Tomoe is the leader of the Death Busters and the father of Hotaru.  It all started with an explosion in his lab that took t he lives of his wife and Hotaru.  In exchange for Hotaru’s life he agreed to become possessed by the daimon Gerumatou and allow an entity to grow inside of Hotaru, restoring her life.  He nurtured the evil that was growing inside of her that would one day become Mistress Nine.  Sailor Uranus and Neptune eventually drove Gerumatou out of the Professor’s body in a fight where the daimon was destroyed. 

Mistress Nine is a creation of Professor Tomoe’s desire for his daughter to survive.  Tomoe Hotaru’s life was spared after an accident in her father’s lab but only to have her body possessed by an evil entity, which left her body weak.  Mistress Nine appeared after Hotaru swallowed Chibiusa’s pure heart crystal.  Her goal was to retrieve the Holy Grail to bring her master Pharaoh 90 to earth.  When she placed the grail in the machine that was to bring her master to earth, a stray energy bolt struck out at her and weakened her considerably.  This weakness allowed Hotaru who was still alive in Mistress Nine’s consciousness to awaken Sailor Saturn and destroy her. 

Kaolinite was Professor Tomoe’s assistant and helped with creating the daimon eggs that plagued the Sailor Senshi.  She also doubled as Hotaru’s caretaker.  After falling off of a tower and dying Professor Tomoe revived her and she became Kaori.  She falls deeply in love with the professor and changes back to Kaolinite when the Professor says how he misses the old her.  Mistress Nine is the one to eventually put her to an end.

Eudial was the first of the Witches Five.  She used computers to track down possible talisman holders and used a large gun like object to extract the pure heart crystals from her victims.  Her other inventions were two fire type guns, the Fire Buster and the Fire Buster 2.  When the talismans were drawn out and the Holy Grail was formed, Eudial and Sailor Moon both rushed out for it, Sailor Moon being the victor.  In a desperate escape Eudial gets in her car and flees the scene.  What she doesn’t realize is that Mimete sabotaged her car, removing the breaks.  After taking a sharp turn she goes over a cliff, plunging into the sea below.

Mimete was very immature and boy crazy (kind of like Usagi).  She was put in charge after the not so accidental death of Eudial and chose only men that she thought were attractive to take pure heart crystals from.  Now that the Holy Grail was found it was her job to collect pure heart crystals to help revive Mistress Nine.  Mimete met her end by using a machine creat ed by Eudial, which placed her on a tv screen.  Because she had tried to trick Tellu earlier, Tellu pulled the plug on Mimete and literally ‘turned her off.’

Tellu’s powers were based on plants and she used plants as helpers in her plots.  She opened a plant shop and sold plants that would take people’s pure heart crystals when they bloomed.  Sailor Moon soon caught on and destroyed all of the little plants but could not get Tellu.  Tellu brought out her last plant which was a large mutant plant looking thing.  Tuxedo Kamen then shows up and frees the pure heart crystals that Tellu had been keeping in a black star shaped container.  Tellu frantically tries to recapture them but her plant turns on her and they end up destroying each other. 

Viluy takes over after the death of Tellu.  She poses as a student at Mugen Gakuen High School where she is one of the best students.  She used computers to track down her victims and even tried to become friendly with Ami but Haruka and Michiru find out that they are keeping Hotaru down there and try to kill her.  Ami stops them and right after Viluy appears and reveals her true identity.  She tried to use her Mosaic Buster attack on the scouts but the bracers that controlled them became damaged during the battle and her last attack turned on her instead.   

Cyprine and Ptilol were twins that in their untransformed state appeared as one person.  They were the most powerful of the Witches Five and almost managed to destroy the Inner Senshi who barely escaped with their lives.  When all seemed lost the Senshi managed to trick the twins into firing at each other, killing them in the process.
